nevada:this is almost entirely head-canon, because we learn little about him in the movie. we know he had a nephew, and has a brother-in-law, so we can assume he has a sister. we also know he is a drug lord. that is about it, to be quite honest.nevada is forty and the head of his own drug empire. he's a kingpin, in his own right. he's cuban-dominican. he owns his penthouse, and has a few other properties that he makes legal profit from.he's rough, heavy-handed even when he doesn't necessarily mean to be. he's very manipulative, both in and outside of work. he likes knowing that he has control over someone.
santiago:my sona is named santiago. he's eighteen, studying forensic pathology in college, and mexican-american. he lives with nevada, sometimes helping out with whatever nevada orders him to.he's annoying, his favorite thing is rage-baiting nevada. he doesn't clean up after himself and he spends the majority of his free-time harassing little kids in first-person shooter lobbies.his parents are not involved in his life at all. he was disowned at fifteen. all he has is himself and his snark.
their relationship:nevada takes on an almost mentor-like figure in the relationship. while nevada is mean-spirited in general, he's a bit softer with santiago. he's gentler, reminds him to pick up after himself and do his classwork. Santiago listens to him for the most part, but he thinks it's fun to disobey.although nevada takes on a rather soft role in the relationship, that doesn't make it healthy. the only constant in santiago's life is nevada, giving nevada more power over santiago than he would have already had. they fuss and fight, but refuse to really acknowledge any problems.
